From Issue:

Randy Michaels and Marc Chase have broken into the Randy Michaelsworld of Internet radio after selling their company, "Up Your Ratings" (UYR) to IO World Media -- the parent company of RadioIO, which features Bubba the Love Sponge and dozens of genre-based Internet radio streams.

The acquisition was a stock-for-stock transaction. Michaels (pictured) and Chase will serve as Strategic Advisors to IO World Media.

RadioIOMichaels said he and Chase are looking to "implement a plan for Internet radio that combines the best practices of traditional media with the most successful interactive characteristics of leading Internet businesses."

IO World Media gains UYR's pureplay recommendation system, dubbed ScenarIO. It reportedly is designed to create a customizable audio product "specific to the user's tastes, locations, moods or activities." Also included in the deal is UYR's plans "for a proprietary state of the art audio storage, retrieval, and distribution system that eliminates the need for a Content Distribution Network."
