Livio Radio's in-car API wins Frost & Sullivan Innovation Award

Livio Connect APILivio Radio has received the Frost & Sullivan 2012 New Product Innovation Award for the Livio Connect API. The API "is commonsense technology that connects apps to cars, eliminating the nee for constant support and one-on-one integration between consumers' smartphone apps and hardware devices," Livio explains.

The company also said their Connect system will be available at the International CTIA Wireless 2012 in the Automotive Solutions Showcase, which runs May 8-10, in New Orleans.

Dish adds Pandora to certain DVRs

Pandora via TVSatellite TV provider Dish has added Pandora to its Hopper Whole-Home DVR systems. Users with such DVR devices can now stream Pandora through their TVs.

"More than a third of all radio listening takes place in the home and Pandora delivered through the Hopper allows everyone in the family to easily access and enjoy music they love through their personalized radio stations," said Pandora's Business Development VP Ian Geller.

Dish's Hopper DVR also offers access to Facebook and Twitter, as well as photos, games, news, weather, sports updates and stock quotes. Engadget has more coverage, including Dish's press release, here.

TuneIn offers one-stop destination for streaming CMJ audio content

TuneIn CMJ on phoneInternet radio tuning service TuneIn has created a special sub-directory of CMJ-related streaming content for the annual Music Marathon & Film Festival (which kicked-off yesterday and runs through Saturday). It includes a 24/7 online station playing music from artists performing this year at CMJ, and links to live CMJ coverage and programming from webcasters like East Village Radio and KEXP.

TuneIn offers consumers and device manufacturers a directory of over 50,000 AM/FM and Internet only radio stations. The directory is available on over 150 products, online, and TuneIn's mobile apps.

JacAPPS announces 500th mobile app

jacAPPSNearly three years "to the day" since Jacbos Media announced the creation of jacAPPS, the company has released its 500th mobile app. JacAPPS creates mobile apps for radio stations, festivals, events and sports brands. They've created apps for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices.

Coleman Insights digital media research division knowDigital will present its "6 Ways to Deepen Your Fan Connection on Facebook" study in a webinar Friday, October 14th.  The study was first presented by knowDigital president Sam Milkman at RAIN Summit Chicago last month, and is part of an ongoing effort by knowDigital "to provide research-based 'Quick Looks' at various new media issues of interest by conducting in-depth interviews with real consumers."
