RAIN 8/11: DAR.fm, which enables "time-shifted" radio listening, ranks top programs from more than 16,000 shows

DAR.fm, the “DVR for radio” online service launched by noted entrepreneur Michael Robertson, now ranks radio programs based onpopularity among DAR.fm users.

NPR programs Fresh Air and All Things Considered hold thetop two spots on the talk show list, respectively, followed by Rush Limbaugh and Dennis Miller. The top music show isWorld Cafe, followed by Morning Becomes Eclectic.

DAR.fm automatically records radio programs online, much like a DVR or TiVo automatically records your favorite TV shows. Users can listen to the recorded shows online or on devices from Roku, Squeezebox, Grace Digital and AR Infinite.

The Elvis Duran Group (EDG) has created a new Digital division and appointment Kathleen Heaney as Digital Director. Heaney will oversee the ElvisDuran.com website, which will include a video channel to feature exclusive content from the syndicated “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” (and more). She’ll also be responsible for a daily fan newsletter.

Duran’s show is based in New York at Z100. It’s syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks in more than 40 markets. FMQB has more coverage here.
